The Colors of Vincent Van Gogh

Children will learn a little about the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh, and create a colorful landscape of tulip fields in his bold and expressive style using watercolor and tempera paint. They will learn landscape drawing techniques using lines and shapes, near/far, and simple perspective. Then they will mix primary colors to make secondary colors to paint the landscape, using brush strokes to add texture and excitement to the scene.
We will take a break in the middle for a snack and to read a short book about Van Gogh
