WATERCOLOR + GOUCHE + OIL

I come from a family of creators - musicians, sculptors, jewelers, painters – and took up a camera at age 10. My love of making images compelled me to study fine art and photography in college. And this led to a career in advertising, graphic design and digital communications. All my past creative endeavors have informed my paintings. I started in oil, but fell in love with watercolor for its challenges, spontaneous application and vibrancy of transparent color. Then there is Gouache – another favorite for its chalky, opaque finish and the ability to build in layers. One of my Gouache works won first place at the 2018 Naples for the Arts Show.

I hold a BA in Fine Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University, and have continued my painting studies thru classes at Maine College of Art.

My husband Bob and I moved to Casco from the Portland area in 2015. We love it here in the Lakes Region. It’s filled with creatures and landscapes to inspire paintings for years to come. I am very pleased to be a part of 302 Gallery and exhibit among the many talented artists of the Lakes Region.

More of my work can bee seen on my web site at  www.maggiedaigle.com including samples of my commissioned animal portraits. I also show my work at J. Decor in Bridgton, Maine, and teach free painting classes to cancer patients and their caregivers through the nonprofit "On Eagles Wings."
