Janice Simari Siegle, born in Boston, has been a Maine resident since 2003. After a long career in the healthcare field, Siegle turned her passion to oil painting. She has studied at the Maine College of Art and Design, Portland and the University of Southern Maine, Gorham. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire (BS) and Boston University (MEd). Janice is a Meetinghouse Arts Gallery Committee member in Freeport and owner and creator of The Studio at Two Chimneys Farm, Falmouth. Her work can be viewed at The Meetinghouse Arts Gallery, Freeport; Boothbay Region Art Foundation, Boothbay; Gallery 302, Bridgton & FO Bailey Antiques, Falmouth.  

"I am a representational artist and work with oil paint because of the color vibrancy, blending ability and sensual feel of the medium. My subject matter is nature as I am inspired by the light and shadow of the landscape. I utilize traditional oil painting techniques and love to modernize a traditional composition through brushwork and color. Vermeer, Umberto Bocciono and Paul Cezanne are my muses."  Email at:
