Burr Chase Center for Education in the Arts

John Burleigh “Burr” Chase was a beloved past president of the Board of Directors at Gallery 302, a compassionate, supportive man and skilled potter. Burr and his wife Pam co-founded Mud City Studios in Sebago, ME. Pottery was another way Burr connected with people and he made his art with the idea that it should be accessible to all. When Burr passed away in October 2014 after a battle with lung cancer, his family created an endowment in his name to support art education. The Burr Chase Center for Education in the Arts at Gallery 302 is the space used for monthly classes. The Chase Family’s generous endowment began the creation of the Burr Chase Education in the Arts Center. We feel very fortunate for their continued support, as the Burr Chase Endowment implements a 20% discount to all Bridgton Art Guild members taking classes. In Burr’s memory, Gallery 302 strives to encourage artists of all ages and make art accessible to all.
