Ekka Naigle has joined Gallery 302 with her stylish stoneware and unique pottery pieces. Ekka recently graduated from MECA in Portland and the Gallery is pleased to have her join the cooperative group. Susan Colburn Motta of Kennebunk joined the Gallery some months ago, and has added a refreshing abstract touch with her delicate, organic drawings and paintings. Dave Newcomer’s colorful and whimsical painted fish carvings are unique and delightful. Together these three artists add to the rich mix of local artists that make up the Bridgton Art Guild and Gallery 302.

Roxanne Quimby asked the artists of Maine to come to Millinocket and paint images of her proposed National Maine Woods park. This was the location where Don Fendler of “ Lost in the Mountain of Maine” was found. I sat on the porch of a cabin and reminisced of the gone by days when Thoreau painted and relaxed here. My view of the land called Elliotsville plantation included Mt Katahdin in the far distance. This parcel of more than 60,000 acres abuts our Baxter state park.

"I have been having fun taking workshops. In August I studied for a week with a Chinese watercolorist, Lian Quan Zhen. Blowing paint was especially fun! In October I studied abstract art in acrylics with Rebecca Klemovitch. In November I am excited to have the opportunity to go to Raleigh, NC to paint with many different artists at a huge event, "Art in the Carolinas".
