Gallery 302, an artists' cooperative , features the work of artists and artisans working in a wide variety of media. Open daily, Gallery 302 is located in Bridgton, heart of the beautiful Lakes Region area of Maine.

In addition to showcasing the work of member artists, the gallery hosts solo shows of Guest Artists, and offers a lively series of classes, lectures, and Plein Air painting sessions. Summer activities include Open Studio Day, Art in Bloom, and the Camp Show. Art in the Park, an annual celebration of art and craft in beautiful Shorey Park, is now the highlight of the summer art scene in Bridgton.

The Gallery serves a wide range of talented artists, providing support, opportunities for growth and interaction, and a community outlet for their work. Our monthly receptions are open to the public.

Many of our exhibiting artists are members of other galleries around the country. They also participate in juried shows and competitions.  This column celebrates the achievements of those artists.  Please check back frequently to keep up-to-date regarding the awards, honors, and recognition of the talented artists of Gallery 302.

Darylann Leonard of Gallery 302 entered the International Glennie Nature Photography contest  as a member of the Portland Camera Club.There were 380 entries from all over the world in the waterscapes division and Darylann won one of 4 merit awards for her photograph ,"Autumn Song". She also won 2nd place at the Bridgton Art in the Park for the same photograph.

It might be a serendipitous encounter that draws you to look in the windows of Gallery 302 and then inside for a visit, but it will be clear cut desire that pulls you to the Gallery 302 Gift Shop in the back of the gallery. Filled with matted and framed reproductions of original paintings, pottery, fused glass, stained glass, fiber art, wooden ware, note cards, and goodies like hand painted silk scarves - it's the place to shop for those unique gifts that can only be found at this artists' cooperative. Gallery 302 gift certificates are honored throughout the gallery and the gift shop. And of course, it's the perfect place to establish a wedding registry.

 The Board of Directors of the Bridgton Art Guild and Gallery 302 are proud to announce the newest members of the Board, Jane Horan and Donna Joss. 
Jane is a fiber artist who creates stunning hats, scarves, shawls, and so much more. She became very active at the Gallery soon after becoming a member and distinguished herself as a leader early on. She lives with her husband in Sebago. Donna has been in the gallery for three years. She is a jeweler and metalsmith. "I'm inspired by nature and love working with natural stones and minerals." Donna is also a yoga teacher and a gardener.        

All members are invited to participate in four upcoming shows at Gallery 302 in 2012. They are listed below:

1. Art in the Park poster contest - "Reflect on Art" is the theme.
Feb 10-March 8.  Pieces must be 10" x 12" or any size square. Work due to gallery Feb. 9.

2. "Surface Moves - Celebrating Texture" - March 31-May 2. Work due to gallery March 30.

3.  Miniature Show - May 3-30. Work due to gallery May 2.
Artists may submit one or two pieces for each show, and we will hang at least one piece. The second will be included as room allows.
